Yup: less children = more wine. German wines are benefiting from climate change, go ahead and take advantage of it. Along the way you'll see really stunning scenery and visit impossibly cute towns like Cochem and Bernkastel-Kues.
If you're feeling the spirit, continue along the Rhine at Koblenz and see some of Germany's very best castles. Or, just drink more Rieslings.
Pop on over to a side valley, the Dronthal, and stay at another of our most favorite places, the secluded Ruessel's Landhaus St. Urban. The stay and scenery are pleasant -- the food will blow you away.
While there's no large airport right nearby, you can venture west to get to Champagne, or further into Germany for the Black Forest or Romantic Road.
